Modern Aphrodite Collection	The Aphrodite paintings evolved out of my interest in mythology, dreams and symbolism. Mythology connects the human race with common experiences while being a seamless mixture of fantasy and reality, a viewpoint I have always found quite appealing. In these paintings, Aphrodite, the ancient goddess of Love and Beauty, strolls through Starbucks, malls and other pop culture hangouts. Although she seems to go unnoticed, her presence is a powerful catalyst, and she inadvertently causes people to make the love connection. This experience is sometimes wonderful, sometimes painful, and often when its least expected.
